The bold, brave, colorful, perplexing and potty characters with whom we associate...
MA, History, University of the Pacific Member of the Renaissance Military Society, St. Michael's Guild (German Military, No CA RPF), and The Warhorse Guild. Founder of the School of the Renaissance Soldier, and Guild Master of the Military Guild of the WA Renaissance Fantasy Faire. Military and History Consultant and Re-Enactor Coordinator for film and television. Credits include "Rough Riders"(TNT), "the Postman", "Ride with the Devil", "The Patriot", and "The Alamo"(Disney). Worked on "Wild, Wild West" as a cavalryman, but is thankful not to be credited. Abilities include leading cavalry in the field, teaching firearm safety (matchlocks through present day), artillery safety, train robbing, burning villages from horseback (torch throwing a specialty), jousting, running down infantry, and tea brewing. Can speak with authority and ad infinitum on a plethora of topics, including history, firearms and bladed weapons, sociology, anthropology, cosmology, physics, and more firearms. Famous (in some circles) for an ill-conceived bayonet charge in the snow, on snowshoes, in which the Hurons were in no danger of being skewered but the attacking rangers very nearly were.

BA, Drama, University of Washington (focus on costume design) A fan of Jules Verne and H.G. Wells since childhood, she recently discovered James Blaylock and Tim Powers, and even more recently H.P. Lovecraft. Content in a late 19th century aesthetic for many years, "Steampunk" seems to be where she's settling in comfortably. She believes people should wear hats when they leave the house, and that gentlemen should wear jackets and waistcoats if they wish to be taken seriously. She believes that science and theology are quite compatible, that tea is the most important meal of the day, and has learned from her husband that any sport that does not involve horses and/or guns is merely a child's game. She has taught English in Japan, where she hitch-hiked around the Izu Peninsula and camped on the beach. She has operated vessels from 1890s seal boats to retired US Navy LCIs. She has cooked on diesel stoves (shipboard) and wood fires, for starving Sea Scouts and archaeologist in the Alaskan wilderness. She can play the piano and harp moderately well. She is an Oriental Dancer, but is not pursuing it actively at this time in order to concentrate on The Warhorse Guild. Her first firearms experience was carrying a double-barreled mule-eared shotgun in a Civil War re-enactment, and considers weapons made after ww2 to be "awfully modern". Her last incarnation as a CW soldier was an ambulance driver (one-horse)(see tintype above). She is a throwback to the turn of the century (and earlier) who prefers the manners, morals, speech patterns, social habits, dress, and food of earlier times. She can stay on a horse reasonably well, but would rather be in the garden with her cats and chickens.

Ship's captain, steam engineer, metal caster, all-around tinkerer and teller of tales. He has skippered tug boats & steam yachts, demolished ships with explosives, cast parts for antique steam engines, played polo, and developed a lethal chutney sauce.
He is a true Renaissance Man and has been a "Steampunk" since before that term was invented!
