... we have no creed, manifesto, or official presence. We are just a group of like-minded individuals, living (mostly) on the peninsulas West of Seattle, with a penchant for speaking, thinking, and dressing roughly a century or more out of date (give or take).
Heroes and role-models: the protagonists of Jules Verne, H. Rider Haggard, H.G. Wells, Rudyard Kipling, George MacDonald Frasier, Elizabeth Peters, James Blaylock, and Tim Powers to name a few. Yes, there is a heavy dose of "Steampunk" and "Gaslamp" genre here. Oh, and a little Lovecraft to spice things up.
Interests: History (military, political, sociological, gustatorial), actual and as interpreted by novelists of the 19th and 20th century and film makers of same.

To engage in social intercourse, the taking of tea and spirits, sporting endeavors*, and occasional treks afield in the spirit of gentleman scientists and adventurers of a bygone era, with the goal of recreation, relaxation, and edification of all involved. The above to be executed with care toward exhibiting style, panache, and a certain je nais se qua. In other words, nothing is worth doing that isn't worth doing while looking darn good.
* This of course implies the use of horses and/or guns.
We do not, as a general rule, roleplay...unless we're getting paid for it, and then it's called "acting". There will be occasional lapses into affected dialogue, usually quoting literature or theatrical presentations. Other than that, we are who we are. Most of us long ago reached the age where we'd much rather do things than talk about them. For one thing, it makes possible a whole realm of "No #*%@! There I was...!" type stories. We'd rather camp in the snow, target shoot, sail classic boats, do cavalry on horseback, and take tea at 4:00, all of this garbed in appropriate clothing, than build ornamental props and copy costumes from fantasy films/comics. All biographical anecdotes and accounts are actual, no "personas" were developed "on paper". Life's too short, just be who you want to be and grab that brass ring.
